Officially established in 2013, JP8 was originated in 1997 as Flo-Masters Carpet, a sole proprietor out of Suitland, Maryland. Being in the Capital Metro DC area, also known as "Fed City,"  Flo-Masters hit the ground running as a Federal Contractor. From the start, our customer base was 90% Federal government. Although we performed services as a subcontractor during these early years, the prime contractor in which we worked for was a GSA contract holder at the time, which meant federal contracting exposure for us. To no surprise and according to Bloomberg government, the DC metro area has the highest concentration of federal government contractors than any region in the USA, thus the title “federal city”. While in DC and being involved in government contracting we quickly learned the meaning of the cliche location, location, location.

The company grew quickly and Flo-Masters soon established a reputation as a go to contractor for flooring  in the DC Metro area. Flo-Masters became so  well established pre-internet that 9 years after incorporating as JP8, it still has Google presence and never had a website or any such paid advertisement. It was in 2013 when our accountant suggested that we become incorporated and JP8 resources LLC took the helm. Again we hit the road running, successfully bidding, winning, and performing contracts nationally.

Since 1999, the company has operated on a national level. Since 2015 the company has been operating on the national stage nonstop, 52 weeks per year, whereas prior to 2015 we operated seasonally outside of our local area.

JP8's experience as a whole is in marketing, sales, services, bidding, estimating, contract administration, logistics, facilities support services, and warfighter support services via DLA Energy. JP8 has successfully won and performed multiple prime and subcontracts in 43 of the 50 states to date. Our success extends beyond the lower 48 and into Alaska and Hawaii.
